Two weekends ago, with winter fast approaching, I decided we needed to clean out the garage (so the vehicle will fit into it) and put the yard to bed for the season. The first task took five hours of hard labour; the second, a full seven.
This past weekend, my husband and I helped our daughter and her boyfriend with getting their new home ready. Saturday involved six hours of priming and painting, followed by returning home to bake a cake for my husband’s birthday dinner the following evening. Sunday was another six hours, this time doing painting and then scrubbing wood floors, followed icing the cake and making a full dinner. Monday was a Remembrance Day, and after attending the ceremonies, I managed to fit in another four hours of scrubbing floors, doing touch-ups, and painting trim.
The fact that I have begun to look forward to the regular work week as a chance to take it easy tells me I might be going about this weekend thing all wrong… 😉
