“I can’t be in two places at once.” Sound familiar? If you’re anything like me, you’ll have lost count of the number of times you’ve spoken those words to your children/spouse/co-workers/boss/etc. I’ve often wished there was more than one of me (though my husband and children would disagree!), because there just isn’t enough me to accomplish all I need to do. At least, not in the real world.
In the virtual world, however, it’s a different story. In fact, ladies and gentlemen, I put it to you that human cloning is no longer just a future possibility, but a reality. Virtually speaking, of course. 🙂
No longer are we entirely restricted by our physical bodies. With a little careful planning (or in my case, a total scheduling meltdown…oops), we can make a physical appearance in one place and virtual ones in many–all at the same time.
Take this weekend, for instance. In the space of 24 hours, my physical self traveled from Ottawa to Toronto for a book signing at The World’s Biggest Bookstore (check back tomorrow for a recap and photos! :)), while my virtual self made appearances on three separate blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads. One of me, seven different locations. (Eight if you count an additional blog poll in which I’ve been named.) Now how cool is that? And I helped my youngest daughter through a difficult moment via text messaging.
Best of all, my virtual selves will remain out there, quietly doing their jobs long after I’ve moved on to other things. Which means that you can still catch up on what they’re doing. 😉
At Sci-Fi Fan Letter, an interview that led to yesterday’s book signing and my placement as The World’s Biggest Book Store’s featured urban fantasy author for the month of June (a big thanks to Jessica for her amazing support!).
At Defrosting Cold Cases, I follow up on my Blog Tours 101: Setting up Your Own Virtual Book Tour post with Blog Tours 101 Part 2: Working with an Organizer to Set Up a Virtual Book Tour.
At Fresh Fiction, a fun post about The Four REAL Reasons Why Writers Write.
And last but not least, if you have a minute, you can vote for Sins of the Angels to be the next book reviewed by Forget the Housework I’m Reading in her poll. 🙂
Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!
