Tuesday Tidbits

Greetings, fellow humans!

So here’s what’s happening in my corner of the world right now…

What I’ve accomplished: My house is decorated! The tree won’t go up until December 20th (because hubby refuses to put it up without all the kids in attendance…I think he’s having a tougher time with this impending empty-nest thing than I am, poor guy 😉 ), but the rest is done. Garlands, lights, ribbons, bows, angels, Santas, snowmen…the whole nine yards. I tend to go all-out at Christmas, I’m afraid. I refer to it as channelling my inner Martha Stewart; the more cynical of my daughters, however, once described it as Christmas throwing up in the house. I guess it depends on your point of view… 😀

What I haven’t accomplished: Christmas baking. Any of it. We had a party this past weekend, and I actually put out store-bought cookies for the first time in my life. My mother would either be horrified or proud of me for letting go of the ideal. I did put on a pretty good spread for a total of 29 people, so I like to think it would be the latter. 😉

What I’m working on: That new romantic suspense! It’s a novel I actually wrote years ago…rather badly, to be honest, but the storyline was solid enough to warrant a rewrite, and I’ve always loved my heroine in it. BUT you won’t be able to read the book, because there won’t be one. I promised a few more details on that topic, so here you go: This particular story is destined for serial release on a brand new reading app coming in the New Year. The app is called Radish, it’s going to be super-cool, and you can sign up here to be notified as soon as it’s live.

What else I’m working on: A holiday surprise for readers of my Ever After romance series…particularly those of you who keep wanting to see more of Gwyn and Gareth. Stay tuned for an announcement here when it’s ready! 🙂

What I need to get moving on: Christmas shopping. Now that the kids are older and mostly out of the house, we do far less in the way of exchanging (it’s become more about just getting together), but I really need to do at least some. 😛 Also, moving. Youngest daughter leaves for Toronto on January 5th, and we really, really need to get into packing and moving mode. Really!

Happy less-than-two-weeks-before-Christmas, everyone! 😉
