A Study in Ice: Pictures after an ice storm

So Giant Dog and I have been doing a lot of walking along the river again since the advent of winter. I love that we have the trails pretty much to ourselves…seems very few people enjoy walking when it’s cold enough to freeze your nostrils together. Go figure. 😉

Anyway, following last weekend’s ice storm, which left the trees encased in ice, the scenery has been particularly gorgeous. Breath-taking, even (and no, not just because of the cold!). So pretty, in fact, that I’ve just about frozen my fingers off taking photos with my iPhone (I really need to get me some of those touchscreen-sensitive gloves…), and pictures requiring that kind of sacrifice deserve to be shared, don’t you think?

I thought so, too. 🙂

Pretty, but oh so cold looking! Big dog is one lucky fellow 🙂

And I’m lucky to have a walking companion that’s opened my eyes to a whole new world…or so I keep telling myself. 😉

I know how destructive all that ice can be, but holy cow it’s pretty!

It’s honestly gorgeous, D.D., and this time around, only a little destructive. 🙂

Gorgeous Linda! You and Giant Dog are brave. My golden and I found it too slippery to walk around and after the broke leg and ankle last year I tend to wimp out more. But today’s gently falling snow is calling us.

Thanks so much, Ally…and yes, I would be more cautious in your shoes, too. Take care of yourself, and be careful out there!
