So, apart from taking winter pictures and dealing with life transitions (again!) as my daughter finishes up a semester of high school and prepares to move to a new setting, I really have been doing some of that writing-related stuff, too. Honest! To bring you up to speed:
I’m currently better than halfway through my re-read of Sins of the Son as I make sure I have my story straight before I continue work on book 3. Despite my abhorrence of reading my own stuff after it’s in print (have you any idea how hard it is to not be able to make more changes?!?), I’ve actually found myself so drawn into the story that I’m not mentally rewriting as I go. This makes my job a great deal easier, and I’m hoping it also means all of you will have the same experience. 😉
In preparation for the fast-approaching March 27th release date (just over two months away — eek!), I’m in the thick of planning a blog tour. Okay, that’s not quite true. Rachel of Parajunkee fame is organizing the tour for me this time around, and I couldn’t be happier to hand the job over to her. I should have a schedule of stops up sometime in the next couple of weeks, and I am SO excited. While nothing is finalized yet, I can tell you that I’m planning something special for release day with Julie of Yummy Men & Kick Ass Chicks. Lots of cool prizes are involved and I think we may be doing something a little different from the standard guest post/interview, so do stay tuned!
I’m still waiting to hear from my publisher about a Goodreads ARC giveaway, but it looks like Penguin may be giving away finished books instead. If that’s the case, look for an ARC giveaway here — SOON! — as I share the extra copies sent to me. 🙂
And, as I did leading up to the release of Sins of the Angels last year, I’ll be doing Teaser Tuesday again…so be sure to subscribe if you want to have a sneak peek (or several) of Sins of the Son.
Finally, I’m meeting with a group of graphic arts students from Ottawa’s Algonquin College on Friday to begin work on a new website! As much as I love the current one (also designed by a student group), it’s just not as flexible as I need it to be…and because I’m a whole lot more web savvy now than I was even a year ago, this seems like a good time for a change. I’ll be the students’ end-of-year project and they’ll get to put the site on their resumes…a win-win situation for all involved. 🙂
And that’s it for the moment. I’ll post updates as I have them (and will one day be organized enough to have a newsletter…sigh), and other stuff as I soon as I can get it jotted down. Happy Tuesday, everyone! 😀
ADDENDUM: (Thank you to Miki for the reminder!) There will absolutely be an International component to at least some of the tour giveaways, and the release day party will be fully International. 🙂
