Right, so I really, really need to get to work on setting up a newsletter one of these days. Really. sigh
Because that’s not likely to happen in the immediate future, however, I’m afraid you’re stuck with sporadic updates here with regard to what’s going on in the Grigori Legacy world. And wow, is there ever a lot going on all of a sudden! o.O
First up, book 3 goes to cover conference today (woot!). Basically, this involves my editor, the publisher, marketing, and art all sitting down to discuss what this puppy is going to look like and what we’re going to call it. I sent my input to my editor yesterday (along with a couple of images for inspiration) and I am so excited to see what they come up with for artwork. As for title, I came up with an awesome one the other day (one of those last-minute strokes of genius things) and both my editor and agent love it. If it passes muster with the publisher, I’ll be able to share it with you soon, so fingers crossed. 🙂
Even more exciting, it’s beginning to look like I might finish the first draft of the book this week. That won’t mean it’s anywhere near done, of course, but it will be a huge step forward. The next step will be to do a full read through of the manuscript and make notes about what needs to be added/moved/deleted/changed, etc. This is where I layer in emotion, cover all the senses to make the story feel more real, make sure I haven’t dropped any of the story threads, and so on. Step three will be to make the changes, and step four will be another read-through for consistency, grammar, repetition, etc.
The final step, of course, will be to have it on my editor’s desk for March 1st. Which is only 20 days away. Not that I’m counting, because I’m totally not, because it’s all good…right?!? 😀
Phew. Well, glad to have that little meltdown out of the way. And seriously, as long as we keep the coffee flowing, this is totally doable. I promise. 🙂
P.S. I also post updates on Facebook, so if you haven’t already liked my author page there, you really, really should. Really! 😉
