My Christmas Present Sucks

Ah, the best laid plans…

You may remember that I posted my top-5 Christmas wish list a little while back. And that I mentioned how practical I’ve become over the years? Well, the universe has apparently decided to test my practicality. A few days before Christmas, an essential piece of household equipment gave up the ghost…and let me tell you, in a household that contains one rabbit, two cats, and a dog the size of a small pony, you do not want to be without this particular piece of equipment. So here’s what was under the tree on Christmas morning:

Believe it or not, I was the one who suggested the idea, and I’m actually thrilled. Our previous vacuum (also a Dyson) was almost seven years old, had been glitchy for a few months, and was an absolute beast to maneuver. It was also really, really loud. This little thing is a third of the weight, follows me like a well-trained puppy, and is incredibly efficient. And the best, best, bestest part? It came with a special attachment for vacuuming the dog.

Seriously.

Can’t say Charlie is too thrilled about the idea of being vacuumed, but he tolerates it…and it makes grooming so much easier! 🙂

So there you have it… my Christmas present. Personally, I think it’s rather cute. And while it may truly suck, it does so in the best possible way.  😀

(P.S. Hubby was able to patch up the old vacuum! While it won’t stand up to the demands of our household, we’re passing it on to one of the daughters who only has one small rabbit…we figure it should be good for a couple more years at her place! ;))

OMG, every joke I’ve ever heard about giving household appliances as gifts just came to mind! LOL I have a Panasonic upright that must be 20 years old now. Hmm, I think it should have it’s own Twitter account, riffing on the SarcasticRover that’s a parody of the Mars Rover. How about SuckyRover? 🙂

Nothing wrong with being practical. For the last 6 years (this year being the exception) my Christmas wish list has been things I NEED pots and pans, bed sheets, a vaccuum etc. Its esp ecxiting when they work amazingly! Getting things I need for Christmas still makes me as excited to unwrap and use as getting those things I just want.

I want to borrow this thing to vaccum my moms dogs….

Last year I got a rice cooker and vegetable steamer and I had asked for it. I use it almost every day!!! Yes, practical but I love it too!
