If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll know I occasionally post a photo of one of our menagerie — usually the dog or one of the cats. In the interests of giving all the pets an equal opportunity to be oohed and aahed over (and because so many of you have asked about my mini-zoo), I thought it would be fun to corral everyone in one place for you. Not literally, because can you imagine even attempting a group photo with this bunch?!? <shudder>
So in no particular order — well, we’ll let the cats go first because, well, they’re cats, right? — here’s the fuzzy/hairy/scaly side of the family tree. π
This is Sylvester. At a grand old 18 years of age, he’s the ruler of the house — yes, even the dog knows to stay out of his way!
George, age 6. Alternatively known as Curious George, Gorgeous George, George of the Jungle, and Hug-him-and-squeeze-him-and-call-him-George. Much to his great disgust. π
Without doubt the cutest of the bunch, this is Momo. He was the runt of the litter (though you could never tell now) and is almost completely blind (total in one eye, sees large shapes/shadows with the other). Altogether now…”awwwww!” π
Following the cutest, we have the most unusual. Meet Steve, our bearded dragon lizard. He’s getting on in years, having almost reached a beardie’s life expectancy of 10 years, but seems to be hanging in there pretty well for an old guy. π
Last but certainly not least, my walking companion, Charlie. Those of you following me on Twitter or Facebook may also know him as Moron, Giant Dog, or Jesus Dog (long story), though his most-used nickname is Charlie-horse. At 127 lbs, the reason for the latter name is fairly apparent. Don’t think he looks that big? Here’s another photo of him with my 6-foot-tall husband a year and 10 lbs ago:
Yeah. He’s that big. And if the first thing you said upon seeing this was “whoa!” then you have a good idea of why we call him a horse.
And there you have it. My pet-family album. Aren’t they awesome? Β π
