Hybrid Theory: a discussion of hybrid publishing

So I had my very first live-radio interview last night, and it was a blast. The lovely Marie Bilodeau (author of Nigh) had been invited onto Kate Hunt’s Literary Landscape show at Ottawa’s CKCU-FM, and she very graciously shared the microphone with me–quite literally, as it turned out.

The topic of discussion was hybrid publishing–which essentially means having a foot in both traditional publishing and self-publishing, a circumstance Marie and I share. Kate asked great questions, Marie watched people drown ( 😀 ), and we had an altogether fun time. If you’re interested in hearing about our thoughts and experiences with the hybrid model, you can check out the archived show here.

Linda, just listened to your interview on hybrid publishing. Enlightening and encouraging. I’m just getting my first novel ready and plan to self-publish, but we’ll see.
    Thanks,

Thanks for sharing this interview Linda. Your experience of having one foot in both the traditional and the indie sides of publishing, is very interesting. I’m still awaiting your final book in the Grigori series, but was mesmerized by your experience with Wattpad in the Romance genre. Your discussion about serialization and the success you’ve had there growing your audience, has given me some food for thought. Thank you.

So glad you found the interview useful, JP. You might also be interested in a podcast I did recently on the Wattpad topic. You can find it here: https://rockingselfpublishing.com/episode-83-leveraging-wattpad-build-following-bolster-sales-linda-poitevin/. Lots more information there. 🙂
