Welcome back to my Holiday Traditions & Memories event, where some wonderful authors are sharing favorite traditions and/or memories with you. Today’s guest is Michelle M. Pillow, Author of All Things Romance™.
Michelle is a multi-published, award winning author writing in many romance fiction genres including futuristic, paranormal, historical, contemporary, fantasy and dark paranormal. Ever since she can remember, she has had a strange fascination with anything supernatural–ghosts, magical powers, and oh… vampires. What could be more alluring than being immortal, all-powerful, and eternally beautiful? After discovering historical romance novels, it was only natural that the supernatural and love/romance elements should someday meet in her wonderland of a brain. She’s glad they did for their children have been pouring onto the computer screen ever since.
After you’ve read Michelle’s post below, you can see more wonderful traditions and memories that readers have shared in their comments on my 30 Days of Holiday Magic giveaway. Share your own story there for a chance to win, too!

When you don’t pride yourself on your cooking abilities, food holidays become even more special because I get fed. 😉
My extended family has pretty much given up on my cooking for the potluck and have assigned me to permanent potato chip and ice cube bag duty. I think the last main dish I made was stuffing over ten years ago, which was terribly dry and out of a bag. I also made strawberry rhubarb pie that was too sugary.
The funny thing is, my skills have since improved and I make a Thanksgiving dinner at my own house and my guests seem to enjoy it. Don’t tell the family though, or they might up my responsibilities LOL. I often joke that the best way to get out of cooking for the holidays is to really mess up a few key dishes. People will stop asking you to cook.
One tradition I’ve had since my daughter was a baby is that we make Christmas candy and cookies every year and give the bags as presents. Though I’m not in the running for the world’s best chef, I can bake. People start hinting early to make sure they’re on the candy list.
I’m very thankful for my family, friends and readers. You make life wonderful!
