Celebrating Love: 27th-Anniversary Style

This past weekend, I took a rare (very rare, especially given that it’s canning season!) weekend off, because…well, twenty-seven years of marriage just seemed worth celebrating. My husband and I even managed a little getaway, heading to Kingston, Ontario, about a two-hour drive from Ottawa.

Our first overnight to Kingston was for our 21st anniversary, and we fell so in love with the place that we go back every chance we get. Steeped in history and set on the shores of Lake Ontario, the city is home to Queens University and is one of the cleanest, most walkable, tourist-friendly places we’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. If you ever have the chance to visit this part of the world, I highly recommend the city as a destination…and here’s a sampling of what you can expect! 🙂

Lovely, Linda! I haven’t made it to Wolfe Island YET…it’s been on my list for years. Great post!

Glad you liked it, Laura! There’s honestly not a lot to see on Wolfe…but I happen to love ferry rides and the Island Bar & Grill makes awesome hamburgers. 🙂

Congratulations on your anniversary Linda. I lived and worked in and around Kingston at the beginning of my career and absolutely loved it. Thank you for posting the beautiful pictures.
