Planning to head to Ad-Astra 2014 in Toronto this weekend? Me, too!
It will be my second time attending the event, and I am sooo excited. I’m still relatively new to the con scene (this Ad-Astra will be my third-ever fan convention), but I am totally hooked. The people, the cosplay, the artwork, the panels…what isn’t to love about all that? 🙂
Anyway, the schedule is up and if you want to connect with me, here’s where I’ll be:
Friday, April 4
7-8 p.m., Markham A Panel: Self-Promotion on the Social Media Soapbox
Publishers are putting ever-increasing pressure on authors to promote themselves through social media. For indie authors and the self-published, social media soapboxing is necessary to sell copies beyond their circle of friends and family. Attend this panel to learn what works, what doesn’t, and how to engage in tasteful self-promotion. Fellow panelists: Beverly Bambury, Ellie Di Julio, K. V. Johansen.
Saturday, April 5
2-4 p.m., Richmond A GOH & Author Signing
I won’t be nearly as pretty as Marie Bilodeau, but I’ll still happily sign your book for you…and chat. I can chat, too. 😉
6:30 p.m., Oakridges Reading
I’ll read you a story…or at least part of one. Which reminds me, I should probably decide which part beforehand. And which story. I should get on that…
And that’s it for my official schedule. In between times, I’ll be hanging out at my book table and/or wandering around renewing old acquaintances and making new ones. I’ll also be on Twitter, so if you want to find me and can’t, tweet me and we’ll connect!
(Pics to follow next week for those of you who won’t be going!)
