Yesterday evening marked the official launch of Sins of the Warrior, the fourth and final book in the Grigori Legacy series, and it was SO much fun!
Thanks to the awesomeness of Marie Bilodeau, Matt Moore, and Nicole Lavigne, co-chairs of ChiSeries Ottawa, my launch event was rolled into their super-fun reading event scheduled for that evening, where I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with fellow authors Yves Menard and Evan Munday. We had a whopping turnout, nearly filling our venue in the upstairs room at Maxwell’s pub on Elgin Street in Ottawa (a great place to grab a bite if you’re in town, btw) to capacity.
I even dressed the part of creator of a kick-ass female homicide detective, wearing a new (albeit fake) leather jacket and pointy-toed stiletto-heeled boots. Though I’ll admit to regretting the boots even before we’d walked the block from the car to the pub…ouch. 😛
Despite being in the end-stages of a cold/cough, my voice held out for the reading, and I actually had two people purchase the first book in the series afterward. So…woo hoo! 🙂
Oh, and while I totally meant to ask my daughter to video the reading so I could share it here? And my hubby to take a few photos for me? Yeah…I completely forgot. Oops. But a friend did snap this photo for me…I guess that will have to do this time around. 😉
