So I’m out walking the dog along the river yesterday, and as I’m taking photos of all the lovely signs of spring, I’m trying to come up with taglines for them in case I decide to post them to Facebook.
And because I’m a writer, I get carried away with the whole waxing poetic thing.
And then the song “A Few of My Favourite Things” (Sound of Music) pops into my head.
What follows here is what happened next. (And you’re welcome in advance for the ear-worm. Please don’t shoot me. 😉 )
Raindrops on water
and fun springtime bridges,
waterlogged pathways
and black-mud-filled ditches,
Rivers that teem with mallard duck wings,
(I know, that one was a bit of a stretch. 😉 )
These are a few of my favourite things!
Budding young saplings
and ice gone from marshes,
fresh signs of beavers
and new bright green patches,
Wild gusty breezes that pluck my heartstrings
(stretch with me here…you can do it!! 😀 )
These are a few of my favourite things!
I’m afraid that’s all I could come up with…though I’m happy to take more photos and continue…no? We’re good? Then have a wonderful day, because people, it’s SPRING! 😀
P.S. Feel free to share the ear-worm…your friends will love you for it. Honest!
